“Women beat their men….their men, beat on their drums…”..and then the kids punked. On June /03/14, the city came together to pay homage to a vested stake holder and beloved disc jockey of upmost respect, Chicago icon, Frankie Knuckles. Frankies was not just another DJ that just spinned the popular and most garnered tunes played on the radio in the basements and nightclubs of Chicago….very remixed radio about the situation…this was a man that took his skill-set and refined and defined an arena of music and established his own genre. Frankie Knuckles effectively established an era of house and pop, in a generation of disco. He was revolutionary and iconic. Sadly there won’t be anyone to behold his endowment because the popular trend of this date is to bow to ratchetness for profit.
Frankie will forever be remembered as a revolutionary that decided to define rather than conceded. His memorably tribute that consisted of a buffet of all demographics, spoke volumes of the depth that he reached. His footprint was legendary and Frankie will forever be be an icon legend of Chicago and I just hope I can reach his level of accomplishment….WRK Frankie….You Served…..and Thy Will Be Done….love always…The Flyy-Life….Deo
