On the back of the historic SCOTUS Marriage Equality ruling, Chicago hosted its annual Pride celebration which culminated with festivities at Montrose Harbor. Estimates are coming in with attendees ranging for 1.5-2 million. We had 0 incidents, 0 arrests, and 100% LOVE. I must take time to give special kudos to Anthony Galloway and his team for pulling it all together. After years of complaining about the quality of the event, Anthony’s team stepped up and took over 2015. I can’t begin to internalize the herculean act of such a major event. Between permits, politics, financing and community involvement, I’m sure he has had many sleepless nights. In my opinion, it was a job well done and Chicago is truly in a renaissance of nightlife.
