This weekend, as a community, we came together and celebrated Market Days. Market Days this year had special relevance because due to the shutting down of our annual Pride fest, it kind of served as a substitute for the year. As I entered the festivities on my VIP, I reached out to the fella’s of High Society to get a deeper understanding of who they were and their exact plight for the community. It’s no secret that in recent days, the decision to abandon their original demographic for profit has left High Society in a precarious situation where they became dependendent upon the ball kids and society rejects of the community. In a desperate effort to remain relevant, they decided to host a “ball” this past Black Pride weekend which ended in not only failure but the ball kid’s producing a hash tag of #WhereIsThe5000 in respect to money that was promised to be given out but was not. After a month of “sitting down,” they debuted with a promising pool party to make up for the failed pool party that was promised this past summer. I was all aboard! But one thing me or my platform will NOT stand for is arrogance of promoters! Dear Promoters, you are NOTHING without out us, your supporters….To come to a community event such as Market Days and feel privileged and fab because you have a few new dudes on your team with a cute face and fat ass is preposterous!!!! You trolleped around as if you were Oprah of the urban LGBT community and it was laughable if not vomiting inducing. Your supporters tried to connect with you and you shunned them as if they were not worthy!!! Perhaps a bit more humility will FINALLY place you on the pedestal you desperately desire….I will NOT be in attendance next week at your event and I’m sure you’re not worried….But I support those that are humble enough to seek my attendance and NOT those whom feel the masses will be privileged because of their fat ass and cute face….At the end of the day, No one even knew who your team were except for Scott and Maurice…The rest of them are irrelevant and has NO status or pull in Chicago!!…dafuck!!!……All in all, I enjoyed myself…Good Job to the Market Days team, but High Society, you tried it….IJS…..Best Regards….Deo
