…To live is Christ and to die is gain…To gain my robe and to gain my crown…To suffer is Christ, to go through is Christ, to live is Christ and to die is gain…

For four years now, at the end of the year, we here at The Flyy-Life make it a priority to stop what we’re doing and pay homage to those fallen angles that we’ve lost throughout the year. Most often when a death hits the community, we post our RIP statuses and may even attend the funeral but soon after, we resume our normal lives and the person slowly becomes a distant memory. The Flyy-Life understands that each of those souls that transitioned were in fact someone’s son/daughter, aunt/uncle, friend or lover. We believe no matter how great or small their names in popularity; each of them still made individual contributions to the overall community which allowed the wheel to continue moving forward. This act alone has solidified their names and their memory should never be forgotten. Although they’re earthly presence is no longer with us, we hold dear that their contributions will always be in our hearts. Continue to rest in peace to all the fallen angles of 2016.

Wow, this really moved me. I am so grateful for life. I look at these faces and think it, could have been me, it should have been me. But by the Grace of God I’m still here.

Pulse was a horrible day for me and all of you I am sure. The memorial brought it all back. Can’t stop crying for all of those who just wanted to dance and enjoy the company of our fellow LGBTQ community.
